COVID-19: UNLOCKED

Corona virus was a sudden event in everyone’s life. Plans failed due to the lockdown and certain
plans came to life too. During the lockdown, weekdays became weekends for everyone to explore
their hobbies and something they could master. Cooking, singing, drawing and writing weren’t just
hobbies or wishes anymore. Clearly the pandemic had worse effects too. Many things changed. The
economy of many countries including India has deteriorated and its restoration will take ample
amount of time. After the lockdown is over, prices of almost every other commodity will rise to the
sky. Small businesses and startups would have to struggle too. Many community groups, self-help
groups have clearly faced challenges due to the lockdown.
This pandemic tends to have a massive effect on many countries all over the world. Economically
flourished countries like America and Singapore etc; have faced an immense human loss due to this
pandemic. Most importantly the current situation of every country affected due to Covid-19
required an initiative. And most certainly, it was lockdown. Where this lockdown is a relief for some,
at the same time this lockdown tends to be a crucial time to tackle for the police force and political
authorities. Amidst a situation like this, there are many people who even today judge the
government for a decision of lockdown. We cant help but be cranky at times. An opinion of mine
stands firmly against behaviour like this. Its us, it’s the citizens of the country who can support the
government and officers in a situation like this. We must resist laziness and crankiness. And step up
to be better citizens for the benefit of our families, friends and fellow citizens.
Moving on, from the environmental aspect, the dramatic decrease in pollution benefitted the
environmental balance. Nature has regained its stability back although for a small amount of time
but amidst the anxieties and uncertainties of the pandemic, that’s a great relief.
From the familial perspective, everyone has got the time they used to crave. The familial aspect is
fulfilled for now, and after the pandemic is over, and lockdown is released, everyone is going to rush
back into the businesses they used to despise and wanted holidays from. Over the time, everyone
and everything will get into place. Everyone will be back to their initial routines. And the nature
would get time to reminisce a time period of lockdown when it could actually breath, away from the
rush and pollution caused by humans.
In the end, I cannot be sure of everyone’s opinion. But this lockdown clearly taught me something. It
was the fact that we can live perfectly without grandeur and luxury. Not everyday do we need
luxury. We humans, can live perfectly simple and sober lives too. This pandemic left many in sorrow
but also taught us something we couldn’t notice in our packed schedules and routines. What it
taught is Unity. We humans, have to stand united against a pandemic like this. Be a support to every
fellow country. Only then we can dominate a destructive pandemic like the Corona virus.
